How to get the best results

Prepare your quilt top

Quilt tops should be pressed, squared and trimmed of loose threads before loading on the frame.

Batting and backing need to be bigger

Both your batting and backing fabric need to be at least 6 to 8 inches wider and 8 inches longer than the quilt top.

Go ahead; make it king size!

Our  frames can accommodate quilts up to 124 inches wide - so dream big!

For our out-of-town customers: a two-day quilting retreat!

How it works

Quilting retreats are designed for two friends who want to spend time together using our long-arm quilting machines. We offer hands-on help and training when you want it, plus independence to work at your own pace, too.

What you need to bring

All you need to bring are your unfinished quilt tops. You can bring your own batting and backing fabrics, or purchase from us. Thread is included in your retreat fee! Oh, feel free  to bring slippers or comfy shoes as you may be standing while quilting.

When can you come?

Quilting retreats are by appointment and can be scheduled for two consecutive days either during the week or over the weekend. Please call at least a few weeks in advance to schedule your retreat so we can do our best to meet your needs.

What it costs

The package cost is $400 ($432 with sales tax) and includes 16 hours of studio time divided over two days however you'd like. Your retreat fee includes a hotel room with double occupancy for one night at the nearby Microtel (breakfast is included.)

What we provide

We offer our retreat customers the use of two Innova longarm quilting machines, basic instruction in how to operate the machines, freehand suggestions and the use of dozens of paper pantograph patterns.

Quilt shops, too!

Our guests often enjoy shopping at about a dozen quilt shops located within an hour's drive or less from us (one great fabric shop is just five minutes up the road). There are neighborhood restaurants in walking distance, and there's both fine dining and fast food places nearby.
